Lifting drums and barrels with Tiller®-liftmobile

Moving barrels is usually done with a trolley or rolling by hand. If this happens occasionally, that might be a good way. However, if you also want to lift the barrels, doing so by hand is no longer responsible. Then it is better to use a stacker, tail lift, special drum lifter or forklift truck.

A handy and universal lifting device that you can use for lifting all kinds of drums up to 160 kg is the Tiller®-liftmobile LM75B. All kinds of different accessories for lifting drums are available outside the standard load board. If necessary, they can be custom-made for your specific drum. Feel free to ask us about the possibilities.

Lifting kegs or beer kegs

For lifting and stacking beer barrels or kegs with one man, you can use the Tiller®-liftmobile with a hook, for example. With this hook, you grab the keg at the top edge. Lifting it out of the car and stacking it on top of each other or in a rack is then a piece of cake. Moving can also be done over uneven terrain, such as over the street and also over uneven floors with thresholds.

Easy lifting of gas bottles, gas cylinders and (medical) oxygen vessels with Tiller®-liftmobile

Lifting and transporting gas cylinders and (medical) oxygen vessels with Tiller®-liftmobile is easy and simple by means of two clamps. Here, you attach and release the vessels by means of a patented clamping system. It also enables lifting gas cylinders or gas bottles and placing them on an elevation, e.g. the welding trolley or in gas storage. The gas cylinder is not secured with a chain during transport and lifting, but with a clamping system. This clamping system is quick to clamp on and off.

This also makes it easy to put the gas cylinder in the company vehicle and take it out at the destination. An example of a company already working with this version: Air Liquide. They bring medical oxygen to patients' homes.

Universal barrel and drum lifter

Commonly used is the universal drum board on the liftmobile. This drum platform is used for all kinds of plastic drums and oil drums. Any model of drum with a diameter between 40 centimetres and 60 centimetres can be moved and lifted with it.

How does drum lifting work with a Tiller®-liftmobile?

Lifting barrels with the liftmobile is super easy to learn. You slide the barrel onto the liftmobile's spoon or hook the barrel to the hook with the top edge. Once the liftmobile with barrel is tilted, as you do with a hand truck, you can simply push it to the right place. You keep balancing the liftmobile with the barrel on it while driving. This is easiest if you keep one hand on top and the other on the handle. Arriving at the destination, keep balancing it and let the liftmobile lift.

While lifting the barrel, you will notice that the weight on your upper hand changes. You therefore move your arm more forward with the balance point so that the liftmobile with barrel is and remains balanced. When you are at the right height, change the upper hand and drive electric forward. Then place the barrel on the elevation by moving your arm forward. Dosed like this, you can place the barrel on the other and let it rest. Unhook, or in the case of a load board, make a little space under the barrel by tilting slightly and then drive backwards.
